The Feather and the Wind

Prologue

- An story of motherly love -

The wind…Can you hear it?...it whispers everyday waiting to be heard by at least one of us, reminding us of its choices, its decision and will; also the life and essence that it decided to disappear from this world to become the one that is today.

Is it alive?...Some believe its not, they only see an expression of the nature that we can control, a mean of transportation in which we can fly like a fish swims in the water, carrying the clouds with it. The warm currents of summer and the blizzards of winter, a recurring messager from the seasons without any particularity or anything special. Others believe it’s alive; that in every little blow it give us a moment of its existence, a breath of life followed by sweet whispers that remind us of our most beautiful moments in life, a wise move of the air that surround us, an observer whose words are not understood, and is everywhere.

Invisible transporter of seeds and spores where they will flourish further sprout: unique, unusual even if it’s part of the day by day of all beings able to feel its cares in the breeze or its anger in the storm. Its singing is the inheritance itself of a long forgotten pray from an ancient language, yet it provides calm to the heart of every being, rocking the cradle of every newborn, throwing leaves in the fall creating art with each of them.

In my case i can feel it; every day of my life i can feel its sweet touch under my wings, stretching, unfolding and stroking in each strand of my body, allowing me to fly faster than anyone I have ever known. Of course everything i do will be surpass by others in the future and my achievements will become words in a history book, yet for the wind each of us is different even if it behaves in the same way with everyone …I know it…I can hear it…My name resonates in its whispers.

I watch the sky, to me it appears like a canvas of unimaginable proportions, the wind is calling, it persuades me to spread my wings and glide over the infinite and unreachable horizon. It is anxious to feel the touch of my feathers flapping on its currents. I raise my head to listen carefully while my mane is move by its eager playful breeze, while my mind creates massive expectations embracing the sensations, my wings suddenly opens and i dive into the void while the Sun is raising.

Even at full speed gently I break through the barriers between us, breaking each layer thoroughly woven by the threads of fate, in this way we play around like little ones before the powerful feeling that overwhelm us when we notice each other eyes. The freedom to be is what makes it different from me, yet we are the same, governed by speed, the powerful impulse of ourselves that allow us to go beyond our expectations, the only one with the ability to go at my passe and keep up even if i speed up, it will be there with me. I fell in love with its speed and strength, with a simple idea surrounded by the cerulean sky.

Is it sily?...Maybe it is in some ways, but nothing can compare to the feeling of freedom, to expand your vision beyond what many fail to see, feeling your path is accompanied by something as vast as the wind itself. It knows, knows that although it is close to me, it is not with me, it understands and yet promises to never leave, somehow I believe that it wants a pair of wings.

What i saw in the wind I found it in another winged creature whose feathers would touch mine melting our hearts into one. My eternal companion, the wind, whistled with happiness while we were soaring. The fire in our eyes, our desire to succeed not to become better than the other just to beat ourselves in the process of being free fed our hearts. My beloved understands the wind too, he confessed that somehow it lead his way to me.

Like a leaf lost in a gale, he was thrown into the air, flying without control at the refusal of his wings. The wind was fierce, determined, persistent at the thought of the way that my beloved needed to soar. What it was planning?...How to understand beyond what you hear?...In a fleeting way, i saw him pass by, his wings opened majestically infront of me, surprising me.

The wind sang excited the day we made our way through it delicate currents lifting us higher and higher through the clouds, with a wonderful pirouette striking down to earth without losing sight of each other or blinking, in that moment a colourful glow appeared between us, like an spectrum of light, faster than us…that day, somehow i knew the decision that the wind chose, to leave its invisible protection to fly with us, I know we weren't hallucinating.

Taking off a little bit of its invisible cloak, it appeared between us and took away forward, its multi-coloured hair, its powerful drive, the excited look in its eyes made me realize that my beloved flying by my side and i, we were meant to be together; the wind itself decided to break its own boundaries and reside with us…at least a portion of it. The promise it made, was fulfilled, in a way that i did not expect, and could not be understood, but still we knew the truth.

Few months later, my little one was born, my sweet breeze left behind what protected it, to be able to fly among us, with us, where its essence would last at least one life.

Exchanging your intangible touch for a couple of wings filled with beautiful cerulean feathers, that day you were born...

...My sweet Rainbow Dash.
This is a story about beginnings, we have dreams that can change as time goes by, transforming the essence of ourselves into something new.

Firefly (Mother of Rainbow Dash according to Lauren Faust) tell us the story, her story before and after THE WIND appeared in her life.

Motherly point of view of life, with and without her Rainbow Dash.
